All About Bee, Wiggle Waggle Walk Spokespet!
Paws up! Will you help me win a friendly competition I have going on with my furry & feathered friends? Show your love for (hu)man’s best friend by donating to my page for the 29th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk! It’s going to be a tail-wagging good time!
If you aren’t able to participate in the walk yourself, you can still support the animals at the HBSPCA by contributing to one of the official spokespets page.
At just two weeks old, I was surrendered to the HBSPCA in pretty rough shape. I had a badly broken leg that had been unintentionally stepped on by my mother. I was part of an accidental litter, and my owners didn’t have the resources for medical care. At that time, I was too young and small for surgery, so I went on pain medication and was given lots of TLC from my foster mom. I had to be bottle fed, and I gave my foster mom quite a few scares when I seemed to go hypoglycemic. During those times, she fed me corn syrup or honey, and that’s how I got the name “Honey Bee”! As I grew bigger, it became apparent that there was also something wrong with my front legs. My back leg didn’t heal in a way that was functional, so it had to be amputated when I was just two months old.
But that didn’t slow me down any! With lots of practice and physiotherapy like swimming and motion exercise, I learned how to get around just fine. I have a prosthetic for my front legs, but I’m still working on that. I sometimes like to cruise around in my doggie backpack and stroller. Through all of this, my charismatic personality shone through, and at 5 months old, I caught a lucky break and found my fur-ever home! I am so happy to have been given a fresh chance to wiggle waggle my way through life!
